The iOS 14.7 update is available for the iPhone. It is announced with improvements and bug fixes. The main novelty is the MagSafe external battery support for the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

This MagSafe external battery made its appearance last week in Apple’s catalog at a price of 109 €. With a questionable capacity of 1460 mAh but at the same time a mention of 11.13 Wh (7.62 V) which seems more acceptable, it allows the iPhone to be recharged with a power of 5 W.

According to Apple, this power increases to 15W if the battery is connected to a power source of 20W or more.

iOS 14.7 also brings improvements for the management of timers on the HomePod which can be done from the Home application and no longer just by voice, adds information on air quality in Weather and Maps, while the Podcasts library allows you to display all podcasts or only followed ones.

Apple Watch unlocking bug

For the fixes of bugs, they concern in particular Apple Music and the Lossless audio playback with Dolby Atmos formats which could know an unexpected stop.

Apple, however, mentions a bug introduced with iOS 14.7 which will be corrected with a future update. It affects the unlocking of Apple Watch with iPhones equipped with Touch ID. Entering the code on the Apple Watch screen may be required.

As often, an iOS update does not happen on its own. Apple is releasing watchOS 7.6 and tvOS 14.7. The security vulnerability fixes menu is not yet detailed. In addition, the deployment of iPadOS 14.7 is not mentioned for the moment.
