Apple said it resolved the “strange mistakes” that prevented some customers from completing purchases, updating applications, or managing subscriptions within the company’s app store on Friday.
Several users reported App Store problems on Twitter, which Apple recognized on its “System Status” website.
It is not clear how widespread the problem was, and Apple did not reveal what caused the inconvenience.
One person told the “AppleInsider” site that he suspected a “system-wide interruption” and spent more than 15 minutes trying to contact Apple support about the problem.
Problems began to emerge in the middle of Friday morning, and the Downdetector website received a maximum of 504 reports at 11:47 a.m.
Apple’s verified Twitter support account said: “We apologize for any inconvenience. A problem was identified with the App Store, and we are working to solve it. “
The Apple Support Twitter account directed people to a resource page on what to do when users cannot connect to the App Store, iTunes Store or other Apple services.
The company asked users on Twitter to report any other inconvenience.
