ARGENTINA REJECTS MILITARY EXERCISES IN THE FALKLAND ISLANDS
The Government of Argentina expressed its rejection of the announcement of new military exercises in the Malvinas Islands, a territory illegally occupied by the United Kingdom, and of the additional presence of security forces from third countries. A statement from the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the announcement of “a peace support operation in accordance with an agreement signed with the United Kingdom on the incorporation of kbs (Security Forces) personnel into the British infantry army in Malvinas”. US COURT REJECTS TRUMP’S REQUEST REGARDING NO REVIEW OF DOCUMENTS SEIZED FROM HIS PROPERTY
A US appeals court has denied former President Donald Trump’s request to prevent prosecutors from examining thousands of government documents at his Florida residence after he left office. The Federal Court of Appeals in Atlanta, Georgia, unanimously struck down a Florida judge’s previous order to appoint a “special master” to review documents seized in August from his Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, which prevented the Justice Department from using it in its investigation into Trump’s actions regarding those documents. LULA WILL MEET WITH BIDEN BEFORE ASSUMING AS PRESIDENT
The president-elect of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will meet with the US president, Joe Biden, before the 1st. January, when he will assume his third term as head of state. According to Fernando Haddad, a member of the transition team of the future Brazilian government, the president-elect has received “many invitations” from leaders of great powers who want to meet personally or at least virtually with him. AT LEAST 230 PEOPLE DIED FROM CHOLERA IN HAITI
Two months after its surge in Haiti, cholera has killed 230 people in the country, according to the latest figures released by the Haitian Ministry of Health. A total of 154 people have died in health centers; while the authorities assured that there are 1,082 confirmed cases and that 10,584 people have been hospitalized. (EFE)
