ASU learned on Sunday that it is one of 16 teams selected for the 20199 NCAA tournament. The Sun Devils are seed # 3 and will face seed # 2 Quinnipiac at 4:30 pm on Saturday. Arizona time in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Under the ninth year as head coach and former ASU goalkeeper Greg Powers, the Sun Devils of a mediocre club hockey program became a powerhouse of the NCAA. The Devils scored a 21-10-1 record in 2018-19 after not winning more than ten games at the NCAA level in the first three seasons.
ASU is the fastest hockey program to rise to NCAA tournament status as an NCAA program, breaking Penn State's record by a year. The Devils do not belong to any NCAA conference; They were the first independent program to climb the NCAA tournament since 1991/92.
