The victim – a policeman who was not on duty at the time – contacted his colleagues giving them the description of the perpetrators. Injured in the back, he was then taken to the CHU Grenoble Alpes.

As for the vehicle in question, a Peugeot 206, its registration enabled the police to establish that it belonged to a garage located in Val-de-Marne and that it was supposed to have been immobilized since September 7th. While being removed by a tow truck, a suspiciously behaving individual was seen in the immediate vicinity of the accident scene. A crew from the anti-crime squad checked him but had no reason to hold him there. His photo was nevertheless able to be sent to the injured motorist who formally recognized the driver who had hit him and fled. A document was also found in the passenger compartment, confirming his identity.
