Petr Cech will start in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at home against Blackpool in goal for Arsenal, confirmed coach Unai Emery.
The 36-year-old started the season as the first choice in the Emirates before being injured against Watford last month.
He was replaced in this game by the summer signatures of Bernd Leno, many of whom had expected him to be installed as number one when he came from Bayer Leverkusen.
Leno has impressed his position between the posts since the impressive 2-2 draw at the Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The inclusion of Leno came even though Cech got fit after his thigh problem when Emery decided to stay with Leno.
But as Blackpool's League One travels to London tonight, Cech will have a chance to regain his place.
"At any moment we will give the goalkeepers the opportunity to help each game," said Emery.
"We are looking for confidence in every goalkeeper, but now Petr Cech will start the Blackpool game after coming back from injury."
Based on his experience, Cech is expected to lead a much-changed team as last year's finalists want to advance to the final eight of the Carabao Cup.
