Assessment of Hail Damage in Alpujarra de la Sierra by Dipgra Deputy

The deputy of Assistance to Municipalities in functions, Juan Antonio Palomino, has visited the municipality of Alpujarra de la Sierra this afternoon, to assess on the ground the damage caused by a hail storm. The heavy rains have affected the urban area of ​​Mecina Bombarón and the crops of the three population centers: Mecina Bombarón, Yegen and El Golco.

During his visit, the deputy announced that several Provincial Council technicians will travel to the municipality tomorrow, who will be in charge of making the necessary arrangements to carry out a first evaluation of the extensive damage caused. This technical evaluation will serve as support to the City Council to initiate the corresponding procedures with each of the supra-municipal institutions with responsibility in the matter.

The mayor has reported that the hailstorm, which took place yesterday between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., has affected basements, garages and businesses in the urban area, that there are stones and mud in some streets, and also accumulations of mud on the road by Mecina Bombarón.
