At the Presidency of the Republic: The Head of State receives the President of the National Transitional Council of the Republic of Guinea and the WAEMU Commissioner Mahamadou Gado

The President of the Republic, Head of State, HE Mohamed Bazoum yesterday granted an audience to the President of the National Transitional Council of the Republic of Guinea, Dr Dansa Kourouma who stayed in Niger within the framework of the 29th African Regional Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF) held in Niamey. “I conveyed the message of friendship and fraternity from the President of the Republic of Guinea to President Bazoum at a time when Guinea is going through a transition whose timetable agreed with ECOWAS is being implemented”, said- he declared. “It is a duty for me to present to the Head of State the evolution of the execution of this agenda which is the reference document which binds Guinea to the sub-regional organization, namely ECOWAS”, said he added. Dr. Dansa Kourouma said he also transmitted to the Head of State messages of recognition and thanks from the people of Guinea. “The former President of the Republic of Niger, Mr. Issoufou Mahamadou, then President-in-Office of ECOWAS, played an extremely important role in the search for a solution to the crisis in Guinea. Also, in my capacity as President of the Transitional Parliament, I have the moral obligation to salute the efforts of the President of the Republic of Niger, through him, all the people of Niger for the support he has had to give to the Guineans for the return to the normal constitutional order,” he explained.

Dr. Dansa Kourouma also took this opportunity to send his hearty congratulations to President Bazoum following his brilliant election as head of Niger. “A country that is going through a worrying security situation but which, thanks to the leadership and dedication of the Niger authorities, is controlling the situation. We also came to ask for the support and accompaniment of President Bazoum as President of an ECOWAS member country for a better understanding of the situation in Guinea,” he said. “When you want to go fast, you walk alone, but when you want to go far, you walk together. We want all the Heads of State to look at the good faith of the transitional authorities in moving towards the return to irreversible constitutional order. Niger is an example of democratic resilience. I think that by walking together, we can draw inspiration from its experiences and its good practices”, maintained the president of the CNT of Guinea.

A few moments later, the President of the Republic received the Commissioner of WAEMU, in charge of the Department of Economic Policies and Internal Taxation, Mr. Mahamadou Gado. At the end of this interview, the UEMOA commissioner expressed himself in these terms: “President Bazoum is the current President of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of UEMOA. In this capacity, I have come, as Commissioner responsible for the department of economic policies and internal taxation, to report to him on the economic situation of the Union and to receive his guidelines for carrying out our activities”, declared the curator Mr. Mahamadou Gado.
