Virginia Raggi reported for the case of Isrealian buses rented from Atac and never used. Everything starts from the Assotutela association that attacks the Municipality of Rome and the municipal transport company of the Capital: "What we feared has unfortunately been realized: the 70 Israeli buses chartered by Atac have never been used or put on the road".
"Really a good waste of public money, seasoned with a series of administrative inconsistencies", reads again in the note of the president of the association, Michel Emi Maritato. "We recall, in fact, that the buses, rented from the Capitoline public transport company, had to be on the road months ago, but – he explains – their registration was not possible, causing economic and image damage, of which the mayor Raggi does not want to assume political responsibility, a presumptuous and embarrassing attitude, that of the first city of Rome, which continues to make fun of Roman citizens, by now tired of a capital in disarray ”. The buses, dated 2008, had to be re-registered but it was not possible to do so because they are Euro 5 and not Euro 6 as the community directives impose. atac has therefore terminated the contract, despite having already paid about 500 thousand euros per month in advance, ie 16% of the total, including maintenance, can be read on Affaritaliani.it.
Mayor Raggi replied with a post on Facebook:"On the 70 Israeli buses chartered by Atac and never used, let us clarify a point immediately: the wrong ones will pay. Today this concept was reaffirmed also in the mobility committee, a few days after the news of the revocation of the contract by Atac. Such errors are not tolerable. The bus, hired by the public transport company had to be on the street months ago, but their registration was not possible. A damage, for all, inadmissible consequences "." Citizens -the pentastellato mayor concludes – ask us and deserve a really efficient public transport service. We must give them answers and our work goes in this direction ".
