Atlas Lions ready to roar in Mozambique

The national beach soccer team completed, this Saturday, October 22, its preparations for the African Cup of Nations, in which it will play its first match tomorrow against host country Mozambique. Images and reactions.

The Atlas Lions carried out their last training session this Saturday in Vilankulo, host city of the 5th edition of the African Cup of Nations which takes place from October 21 to 28.

They will face, this Sunday, October 23, Mozambique, as part of the first day of Group A which includes, in addition to these two protagonists, Malawi.

In a statement for the site of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), national coach Oumar Ngalla Sylla estimated that the match “will not be easy at all”.

“But the main thing, he added, is to remain serene and calm, and not only in terms of the game. It is also and above all on the moral level, because the Mozambique team will be supported by its public, and we must face this pressure with lucidity”.

For their part, the players said they were motivated to take up this first challenge, highlighting the favorable conditions of their preparations and which were guaranteed to them by the FRMF.

The Atlas Lions will play their second match of the group stage against Malawi on Monday (October 24th).
