Darmstadt (ots) –
Three 13 and 14-year-old teenagers apparently had no good intentions on Wednesday (July 13) when they tried to steal an e-scooter on Kranichsteiner Strasse. The project failed and triggered the deployment of the police and fire brigade. At around 4:15 p.m., the trio and another companion hit an e-scooter with a hammer. The aim here was presumably to overcome the safety of the electric vehicle. But as a result of the beating, the vehicle’s battery pack caught fire and the suspects started to flee. The fire brigade put out the fire and the police arrested three of the fugitives as part of the manhunt. The officials led an investigation and released the young people from Darmstadt into the care of their parents after all measures had been completed.
