Aurus presidential limousines rise in price by a quarter before launching into a series

The price of the “presidential” car of the Russian brand Aurus soared by almost a quarter in two months before the start of mass production. Private clients are now offered to buy Aurus Senat cars for 22 million rubles.

As reported in the VK manufacturer’s public, Aurus Senat has risen in price by 22%, from 18 to 22 million rubles. The cost of the first cars is “approximate”. “For more detailed information, you should contact the Aurus sales department, specialists will guide you on the final price, taking into account individual wishes in the vehicle configuration”, – it says in the comments of the company.

“Further releases of the Senat model are expected in other configurations, including those for 18 million rubles. The final cost will be specified by the time such orders are received,” the manufacturer’s press service explains.

Aurus is a Russian brand of bespoke executive cars Ministry of Industry and Trade… Special versions of Aurus cars are used in the special purpose garage of the Federal Security Service for travel by the President and Prime Minister of Russia.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the launch of serial production of Russian luxury cars on a single modular platform under the Aurus brand at the Ford Sollers plant in Yelabuga (Tatarstan) in the first quarter of 2021. According to the plans of the department, by 2024-2025 5 thousand cars will be produced per year.

At the moment, the Aurus lineup includes the sedans Aurus Senat S600 and Aurus Senat Limousine L700, as well as an unnamed convertible for the Victory Day parade. The Aurus Komendant crossover and the Aurus Arsenal minivan are also slated to be produced.

“In May 2021, the first Aurus Senat cars for private buyers should leave the assembly line in Yelabuga, and I think that the interval will be 14 months, then Komendant will go,” said Aurus CEO Adilya Shirinova a year ago.
