For the third consecutive year, the California Department of Health warned of an increase in cases of sexually transmitted diseases. The authorities affirmed that most of the people affected are under 30 years old.
In addition, the Department of Health said that at least 300,000 people were infected especially with three types of diseases:
Syphilis with 13,600 cases
Gonorrhea with 75,000 cases
Chlamydia with 218,000 cases
The figures reported indicate that the increase in diseases due to sexual transmission was 45% in 2016 compared to 2012.
