IFixit experts examined the anatomy of the latest Surface Pro X tablet, which Microsoft announced just over a month ago.
Recall that the device is equipped with a 13-inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 2880 × 1920 pixels. There is a 5-megapixel front camera and a rear camera with a 10-megapixel sensor.
The basis is the 3-GHz processor Microsoft SQ1 with ARM architecture, based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx chip. The amount of RAM LPDDR4X RAM is 8 GB or 16 GB, the capacity of a flash drive is 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB.
So, during the autopsy it turned out that the tablet uses RAM from SK Hynix. The design provides for the removable solid-state drive, which is not difficult to replace.
IFixit experts note that the tablet uses standard Torx fasteners – this makes it easier to disassemble the device. Many components have a modular design, and therefore can be replaced independently of others.
True, almost any repair requires dismantling the display. In addition, the battery is secured with a very strong adhesive.
In general, as noted, Surface Pro X pleasantly surprises with maintainability – six points on a ten-point scale. This makes the gadget one of the most easily repairable devices among modern tablets.
