Within the framework of the Avon Promise to beat breast cancer and Avon Put an end to violence against women and girls, Avon El Salvador launches its call to foundations and organizations to apply for their projects.
Avon reaffirms its commitment to improving the lives of women in a holistic way, demonstrating that when a woman changes her life, she also changes that of her family and her environment. The Avon Pledge to Beat Breast Cancer and the Avon Pledge to End Violence Against Women and Girls seeks to fulfill that goal as a company.
For this reason, it calls on foundations or organizations that support women to eradicate breast cancer and gender violence to present their projects. Winning organizations will receive a donation from Avon to implement their initiatives. The Call is open from July 15 to August 30, 2021.
Projects that apply for the Avon Program to beat breast cancer must be geared towards:
- Promote research related to breast cancer.
- The empowerment of women to make decisions focused on the timely detection of breast cancer.
- Strengthening care systems in health centers that care for patients with breast cancer or for the support of comprehensive care for women diagnosed with breast cancer.
Applicants to the Avon Promise Program to End Violence Against Women and Girls must address the following areas of impact: Strengthening institutions dedicated to protection, support and assistance; awareness for prevention; education for prevention or to promote the economic independence of women and thereby prevent them from experiencing situations of violence, exploitation and abuse. .
The selection of the winning projects is made through an independent jury, made up of experts who have excelled professionally in the areas related to breast cancer or gender violence. Winning entries from the Avon Promise to Beat Breast Cancer Program and the Avon End Violence Against Women and Girls program will be unveiled in February and March 2022.
In this way, Avon around the world continues to work with local partners, society in general and its network of Representatives to end Breast Cancer and violence and abuse against women, using all its resources to contribute to the fight against these social problems.
Proof of this is that in Central America and the Dominican Republic, US $ 719,646.08 was donated at the beginning of 2021 with which more than 95 thousand people benefited in both causes in the region. With this new call it is expected to support more projects and raise a greater amount of money through the sale of products with a cause in our sales brochures.
