Gisa Lions SV Halle – Herner TC 54:57
HTC suffered an unnecessary away defeat in Halle an der Saale. It didn’t look like it at first. HTC took the lead early on and were also impressed by a full-field press from the Lions. At 15:23, the women from Hern won the first quarter. At the beginning of the second quarter Jelena Vucetic and new signing Katarzyna Trzeciak increased by six points, at 15:29 (13 th ) everything looked like a safe away win from Herner’s point of view. From the middle of the second quarter, however, the concentration of the Herner women continued to decrease. After the change of sides, the Lions defended faster and more aggressively, while the Hernerinnen became even more restless and unfocused. With 13 points in a row, the Lions turned the game, especially the Herner center Nicole Enabosi and Sofia Pelander made it equal to the hosts. When HTC opened the final section with an 8:2 run to 45:50 (35th), there were many indications that Herner would win again. With a Herner 52:47 lead (38th), it went into crunch time. It went back and forth before an unsportsmanlike foul by Enabosi decided the game and made the Lions celebrate free throws.
Trzeciak (13/2), Vucetic (11/1), Pelander (11), Enabosi (8), Mingo (7/1), Topuzovic (4), Zolper, Polleros, Groll, Köhne.
