A rare reissue of the pair of “BTTF” sneakers worn by Marty McFly in the 2nd installment of “Back to the Future” is up for auction. They will take place at the Artenchères auction house, in Lyon (Rhône), on November 4th. This sale called “Retro towards the future-urban arts, sneakers and street wear” will also be broadcast live streaming, reports Progress.

In the cult film released in 1989, the young Marty, played by Michael J. Fox, found himself propelled in 2015. He then wore Nike sneakers that lit and laced themselves. These sneakers are among the most expensive in the world, explains the local daily. The Nike “BTTF” were marketed in 2016 and are sold between 35,000 and 236,000 €, on the platform StockX.

A rare edition

The pair, which went on sale on November 4, is owned by an anonymous Lyon collector, the newspaper reveals. This is a size 9.5 (US), equivalent to a 43.5. This model has already been worn and would go on sale between 6,000 and 8,000 €.

It comes from a rare reissue of the “BTTF”. That of 2011, when 1,500 copies were sold on eBay, remind our colleagues. Over $ 10 million was raised and donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research. The value of these sneakers, new and in their box, would amount to around € 25,000.
