Will Smith’s comeback tour is officially underway. Today, on social networks, Will Smith y Martin Lawrence confirmed that Bad Boys 4 is in pre-production, with Adil El-Arbi y Bilal Falla redirecting.
Chris Bremner is writing the script for Bad Boys 4, with Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith for Westbrook, Doug Belgrad and Chad Oman as producers. Martin Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman and Jon Mone are executive producers.
In his Instagram post, an overwhelmingly excited Will Smith filmed himself driving to meet Martin Lawrence, who joined Smith in celebrating today’s announcement.

Before the pandemic plunged the world into chaos and lockdown, the third film in the franchise Bad Boys for Life, grossed more than $426 million worldwide. In total, the Bad Boys franchise has generated $870.7 million worldwide. In other words, there’s no reason not to make another sequel (and more money), especially with Smith trying to polish his image after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Adil El-Arbi y Bilal Falla recently directed Rebel from a script they wrote with Kevin Mill. The plot centers on a family divided by the future of a small Muslim boy. Rebel comes after the duo filmed the pilot and the finale of Ms. Marvel from Marvel, a series that remains the studio’s highest-rated Marvel project on Rotten Tomatoes.
Then there is the extinct film of Batgirl from DC that El Arbi and Fallah filmed with Leslie Grace, Brendan Fraser, Michael Keaton y J.K. Simmons leading the charge. The film was nearing completion when DC’s David Zaslav took it offline to use as a tax deduction.
