Gerstetten (dpa / lsw) – A man attacked a car driver in Gerstetten (Heidenheim district) with a samurai sword. The dark-clad 34-year-old stood in the middle of the street on Friday evening and struck the car with a sword, the police said on Saturday. The driver was able to dodge his attack and called the police.

The man was picked up by officers shortly afterwards. In addition to the sword, he also had brass knuckles with an integrated knife. A first alcohol test showed a value of two per thousand. He was taken to a specialist clinic, police said.
