Bahlil: Investment Target of IDR 1,200 Trillion is Horrifyingly Delicious

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the government is targeting an investment achievement in 2022 of Rp 1,200 trillion. The target is an increase of IDR 300 trillion from 2021 which is IDR 900 trillion.

“Next year, the investment target is IDR 1,200 trillion. This number is horribly delicious. That’s why I invited the governor, regent, and DPMTSP to come to encourage investment,” said Bahlil at the national coordination meeting and awarding investment services in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

Bahlil said that until November 2021, the Ministry of Investment recorded an investment realization of 63 percent of the target. To encourage investment next year, he claims the government already has a strategy.

One of them is to oversee the investment plan starting from the licensing process until it is realized or end to end. The Ministry of Investment, he said, is currently guarding around 600-700 companies that intend to invest.

The hundreds of companies are currently completing the licensing process at the One Stop Integrated Center (PTSP) spread across 34 provinces. The investments that are currently being encouraged are not only those that have a large value, but also provide multiple effects high multiplier effect.

“For example, investment in North Maluku and Central Sulawesi is not as high as in West Java. But the value of this investment does not necessarily reflect multiplier effect massive one. This is the result of our study with the University of Indonesia,” said Bahlil.

Apart from controlling investment end to end, The Ministry of Investment is finalizing the digitization of permits through online single submission (OSS). Bahlil said that currently the implementation of OSS has only reached 90 percent.
