Barcelona flew in the era of “Kuman”, Messi marks VIDEO

Barcelona won 4-0 against Villarreal in a match of the third round of La Liga. The Catalans had a longer break due to participation in the Champions League and missed the first two rounds of the championship in Spain. Villarreal hosted the beginning of the Ronald Koeman era as Barça’s coach.

For the Catalans, Lionel Messi came out with the captain’s armband, who was close to leaving this summer, but eventually stayed at the Camp Nou for another year.

The Argentine scored in the door of Villarreal, and the great talent Ansu Fati played very hard. The 17-year-old Barça teenager shone with two goals at the beginning of the match. Fati opened the scoring in the 15th minute and doubled in the 19th – 2: 0. Then he won the penalty for the third goal scored by Messi in the 35th minute. At the end of the first half Pau Torres from Villarreal scored an own goal.

After freeing Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic, Kuman also changed the game plan to 4-2-3-1. Messi was a central striker with Philippe Coutinho behind him. Fati and Antoine Griezmann attacked on the wings. Neto was at the door because Marc-Andre ter Stegen was recovering from an injury.

The Villarreal players had a chance at the beginning of the match when they organized a dangerous attack in the 13th minute, but Sergio Busquets intervened decisively. Two minutes later, Barça took the lead. Jordi Alba received a pass from behind the guests’ defense, passed to Ansu Fati, who scored with a strong shot of the helpless Sergio Asenjo – 1: 0.

In the 19th, the 17-year-old talent shone again. Filipe Coutinho sent an excellent pass to Fati, who was alone against Asenjo and scored the ball in his bottom right corner for 2: 0.

Judge Guillermo Cuadra awarded a penalty to the Catalans in the 34th minute for a violation by Mario Gaspar against Fati. Messi demonstrated his accurate aim from the penalty spot and reached the classic lead for Kuman’s team – 3: 0.

Shortly before the break, Coutinho missed to score. In the 45th Catalans organized a counterattack, Messi sent a pass to Sergio Busquets, and Pau Torres in an attempt to cross it scored an own goal – 4: 0.

After the break, Barça had fewer situations. In the 55th minute Gerard Moreno scored for Villarreal, but the goal was not correctly counted due to an ambush. Then twice Messi missed a goal.

Miralem Pjanic and Trincao made their official debut for Barcelona after appearing in the 78th minute in place of Sergio Busquets and Antoine Griezmann.

Trinkao made a nice shot in the 86th minute, but Asenjo saved and did not allow him to score. Then the guard of the guests once again despaired of Messi with excellent intervention.

In the final seconds, Estupinian from Villarreal received an excellent pass and found himself against Neto, but did not shoot, but decided to pass and make a mistake.

Thus, Barça started the season in La Liga with an expressive victory in the official debut of Ronald Koeman. The next match between Messi and his teammates is a visit to Celta on Thursday (October 1).
