Because of Facebook video: Hertha BSC suspends Kalou

Dhe Bundesliga club Hertha BSC has suspended his striker Salomon Kalou with immediate effect because of his explosive video recordings. As the club said on Monday evening in a statement, Kalou had violated the video with “fundamental internal team rules and showed behavior that is neither appropriate to the situation nor corresponds to the rules of conduct of the club. “However, the extent of the misconduct requires consistent action,” criticized Hertha manager Michael Preetz.

The striker had caused a stir on Monday with a live broadcast on Facebook, in which he greeted teammates with a handshake and thus violated the required distance rules. He also goes to a room where a teammate is undergoing a corona test.

“With his video, Salomon Kalou gave the impression that the Hertha BSC players do not take the prescribed distance and hygiene rules seriously on the part of the health authorities. Hertha BSC would like to state that this was the failure of a single player, “said the club. At the same time, “the regular references to the distance and hygiene rules should be even more intensive”. According to the Berlin club, the fact that Kalou’s teammates did not alert him to his wrongdoing made it clear “that the regular information on distance and hygiene rules must be even more intensive.”

Kalou himself apologized for his behavior: “I am sorry if I gave the impression that I am not taking Corona seriously,” the attacking player was quoted as saying. I didn’t really think and I was happy that our tests were all negative. ”
