Besiktas sign Gedson Fernandes from Benfica

Gedson Fernandes has signed a four-year deal at Besiktas after a successful loan. He had previously played for Gala in Turkey.

Besiktas officially announced the signing of Gedson Fernandes from Benfica on Thursday. The Portuguese, who was previously on loan to Turkey’s Galatasaray and Caykur Rizespor, has signed a four-year deal with the Black Eagles.

In addition, Besiktas still has the option to extend another year with the midfielder. Gedson Fernandes will wear the number 83 shirt at his new club.

“I feel really good. I’ve wanted to come here for a long time and I’m finally here,” Fernandes explained on the Besiktas website. “I want to enjoy every moment here, I’m here to help the team and make the fans happy,” he added.

According to Turkish media reports, Besiktas is paying six million euros for the transfer.
