The Giants Causeway in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, consists of 40,000 uniform basalt columns. According to legend, the causeway was built by the giant Fionn mac Cumhaill. The island world off the coast is famous for its lush flora and fauna, even basking sharks are said to cavort in the waters. Over the centuries, this area has been notorious for smuggling, war and shipwreck.
