Blizzard sees player numbers drop by eleven million

Blizzard has seen the number of players decrease by no less than eleven million in three years. This is evident from the fiscal quarterly figures of Activision Blizzard.

In its quarterly earnings report, Activision Blizzard outlines a number of numbers, including player numbers for Blizzard games. For example, in 2018 the company still had 38 million players, but in the past quarter this was 27 million. However, we cannot determine from the report which games were less successful than in previous years. What is special is that despite the drop in player numbers, the company’s turnover increased by 7 percent compared to the same period last year. This brought the total turnover to $ 2.28 billion.

Blizzard has a number of major games yet to be released, including Diablo 2: Resurrected, Diablo 4, Overwatch 2, and World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic.
