Boca-River postponed for rain. You play Sunday at 20 Italian

BUENOS AIRES – "Apocalypse" was supposed to be and Apocalypse (of rain) was. The first leg of the "final of the century" has been postponed and Boca Juniors-River Plate by Copa Libertadores will not be played. Not today at least, given that heavy rains have flooded the lawn of Bombonera, forcing Conmebol (the Federation of South American football) to postpone the race on Sunday evening at 20 Italian.

The news of the postponement was confirmed to the newspaper Clarin by the president of Boca, Daniel Angelici, following the summit between the leaders of Comnebol and those of the two teams. Boca Juniors and River Plate, even before the news of the postponement was made official, had already returned to their respective hotels. The problem, now, is that the weather forecast gives abundant rainfall throughout the day on Sunday, which could lead to a resounding new postponement of the game.

BUENOS AIRES ARMORED FOR SUPERCLASIC – Imposing the security mechanism taken at dawn today with barriers located in the streets of Boca and around the Bombonera, which will have access only fans of Boca. On November 24, however, for the return to the Monumental, the tickets were sold only to the fans of the River.

The police have provided three rings of security active within a radius of three kilometers around the stadium, with 2,000 Argentine agents, as well as men of a private Israeli company, PCP, contracted by the leadership of Boca Juniors. The event is closely followed by the media: the sportsman Olé, relying on the pen of the journalist, writer and poet Walter Vargas, said that "it will be impossible to follow this appointment in Zen mode". According to the commentators, the climate of popular participation is comparable only to the 1986 World Cup in Mexico or to those of Brazil 2014, with the defeat of Argentina against Germany, which threw the country into despair.

The challenge between Boca and River is so strongly felt that the radios have decided to consult cardiologists for advice to offer to the fans, while the Argentinean Society of Cardiology has even promoted a "relaxed" chronicle of the final through Radio Colonia AM550, with classical background music and a doctor among the commentators.
