Bodyguard and Line of Duty get a crossover but now we want a real crossover

Dear bodyguard? Enjoy Line of Duty? Imagine how epic it would be if the pair were brought together in crossover to end all crossovers?

The BBC gave viewers a taste of what might be possible by releasing a comedy clip online in which the two dramas merge with high intensity – and now we want more.

And it could happen as both shows were written by Jed Mercurio.

Line of Duty Ted Hastings, played by Adrian Dunbar, combines the moments from both series and has PS David Budd (Richard Madden) grill when he did not promise the freebie breakfast he received from a coffee shop.

Do, do, Mr. Budd. Tut tut.

The editor of the video is unlikely to have an Emmy nomination for his efforts to put the two shows together soon, but it sown the enthusiasm for the fans.

In the meantime, viewers can prepare tonight for the penultimate episode of the successful series "Bodyguard" when (hopefully) some answers will be found in the twisted plot against the Home Secretary.

After completing the show with a 75-minute episode next week, we're sure we'll be on our toes for a bit longer.

In the meantime, however, fans have come up with some solid theories about what happens to the characters at the end of the series.

While a series two is not yet confirmed (judging by the ratings, it is anything but a sure bet), the author annoyed Jed Mercurio that he already has some thoughts in store.

More: Line of duty

Even British drama legend Jim Broadbent wants to get into the next series (as long as he does not retire someone or play dead).

If the audience is not even convinced who lives or who is dead, literally anything can happen.

Bodyguard continues on BBC1 at 9pm tonight.
