Boehly makes a decision on Ronaldo for Chelsea

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has no intention of signing Cristiano Ronaldo as a free agent.

The Blues were heavily linked with the 37-year-old in the summer as he bid to leave Manchester United.

Ronaldo has now had his contract with United terminated and can join a new club imminently.

Boehly has the financial wherewithal to fund a transfer for Ronaldo, but the UK Sun reports he won’t.

A source said: “Chelsea have given up on him, but if Todd Boehly decides to change his mind he will take stoppage action.”

Boehly viewed Ronaldo as a marquee signing in his first transfer window, but then-manager Thomas Tuchel wasn’t hot on Ronaldo.

Although Graham Potter has since replaced Tuchel, there is no indication that the Blues have reignited their interest.
