Present to the Santarém court on Tuesday, João Paulino contradicted the prosecution’s thesis. Considered the main defendant in the assault on Tancos, he says he had help from just two more accomplices and not eight, as the Public Ministry argues.
To the judge, Paulino explained that he went to get the weapons from the military magazine with the help of João Pais, also known as Caveirinha, and that Hugo Santos was on watch. “The rest is all bullshit,” he said, according to statements reproduced by Expresso.
It is recalled that among the defendants in the trial of the case of weapons stolen from Tancos is former Defense Minister Azeredo Lopes.
