Bordeaux Technowest unveils its Tech’Day program

The Bordeaux Technowest technology park is organizing the fourth edition of its annual meeting between startups, investors and partners on July 4th. On the program: exchanges, thematic workshops and some great witnesses, but also the announcement of new collaborations with local players.

More than 500 people are expected on the morning of July 4 in the lobby of the Hôtel de Métropole, to discover or meet 80 of the startups and alumni who have gone through the Bordeaux Technowest support program. ” The idea is to establish contacts, with our startups as well as with our partners, which could give rise, in the event of affinities, to subsequent appointments. sums up François Baffou, general manager of the technopole, who is organizing the fourth edition of this Tech’Day here.

The event also provides for a certain number of presentations centered on the core issues of Bordeaux Technowest, with the common theme of mobility, whether land, autonomous air or carbon-free. Azur Drones, which recently completed a fundraising of 8 million euros to develop its Skeyetech autonomous surveillance and inspection drone solution, will testify, for example, to the journey that leads from startup status to that of scale-up, while The Exploration Company, which is developing a reusable orbital vehicle, will speak on the subject of the new challenges opened up by improved accessibility to space.

Bordeaux Technowest and the Grand Port Maritime de Bordeaux will also launch a call for projects on this occasion to select the start-ups that will integrate the ninth site piloted by the technology park in Gironde, Bordeaux TechnoPorts. ” The start of the school year will take place in September with two or three startups, and the ambition to reach ten in the long term. “says François Baffou. At the same time, the technology park should formalize the signing of a partnership agreement with Bordeaux-Mérignac airport. ” The airport needs a support force to move forward more quickly on forward-looking topics related to innovation, economic development and land, we are delighted to be able to help them. », Comments the general manager.

Tech’Day will also be an opportunity for Technowest to formalize another partnership, this time towards the SSE world, in the form of a consortium created with La Ruche and the Association Territoires et Innovation Social (Atis). ” Bordeaux Métropole contacted us to see what more we could do on the SSE component. As we were already working with Atis and the Hive on a piecemeal basis, the idea of a partnership seemed natural. We are therefore going to offer support in collaboration, with a common program that will allow each structure to intervene in its privileged areas of expertise. », explains François Baffou.

The role of the great witness, provided during the third edition by Nicolas Gaume and his two space adventures, Space Cargo Unlimited and Orbite, will this time fall to a duo focused on innovation in the world of sport, with Christophe Baudot, founder of the Médical Stadium in Mérignac, and the former scrum-half of Bordeaux-Bègles and the French team Guy Accoceberry.

Access to Tech’Day is free, upon registration.
