Bremen: No deadline extension for property tax returns

Bremen is not planning to extend the deadline for property tax returns. The finance department announced this on Tuesday on request. Bavaria had previously announced that it would allow three months more time for the submission, i.e. until the end of April. The deadline ended this Tuesday.
The deadline was originally set at the end of October last year. Because of the slow entrance it was lengthened. Property tax is one of the most important sources of income for municipalities.
According to the finance department, three out of four owners in Bremen submitted a declaration by the beginning of the week – a total of around 177,000 property tax returns were received.
