Nigel Farage's Brexit party today unveiled a number of candidates to compete in the upcoming European elections. The founders of London founder Lucy Harris delivered an emotional and passionate speech criticizing the many ways in which Brexiteers are being silenced for fear of being impacted at work. Ms. Harris also confirmed that she would be in the EU elections for Yorkshire and explained why she felt so determined to attend the Fargo Brexit party.
She began her speech by saying, "I traveled back to London, an unlikely source of Leave voters you might think, but below the surface there are leavers everywhere.
"From teachers to media workers to city workers, but many are too afraid to come out as voter ambassadors withstand their democratic rights for fear of repercussions on their social or professional lives or are simply labeled as racists or stupid by their former friends.
"In London, teachers tell horrific stories when they were forced to eat their lunch in the IT room as a punishment to colleagues.
"Media professionals report that they have been excluded from meetings because of their voice.
"While freelance musicians reveal how they were denied work because of their Brexit attitude.
"Across the UK, many people were faced with the decision to remain calm about Brexit or to be socially condemned.
"Those fortunate enough to take on influential positions in our society have often taken advantage of them to discredit a legitimate political stance advocating their fellow citizens and a majority of them.
"The refusal of the political class to accept the democratic mandate of the referendum has only kept the divisions.
"It continues to damage the valuable social cohesion in our country.
"It is not just the collective political failure to respect the referendum, but also the way ordinary people who support it have been marginalized and thwarted.
"That is really damaging to the fabric of our democracy."
