Buckeye police arrested a man suspected of shooting his girlfriend in the leg on Sunday night.
Buckeye Police Department officers were called to a house near Baseline and Miller roads around 10:30 p.m. On Sunday, where they found a 22-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her leg.
Witnesses told police that Lacory Hall, 24, had shot the woman before fleeing the area on foot.
Police said officers found Hall a quarter of a mile from the house and arrested him. Hall, who was not armed during the arrest, told the officers where he believed the gun dropped from his pocket while running.
Police finally found the weapon and reserved Hall in Fourth Avenue Jail for a charge of attempted murder, a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a charge of disorderly conduct involving weapons.
The woman, which the police have not identified, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
