Caitlyn Jenner wants to become governor of California

Caitlyn Jenner plans to move to Sacramento. After rumors of an application for governor of California, the reality actress confirmed on Friday the plan to stand in a possible ousting of Democratic incumbent Gavin Newsom. “Count me in! California is worth every effort, ”tweeted the seventy-one year old and announced that she had submitted the required documents. Jenner, a Republican, is supported, according to reports in American media, among others by pollster Tony Fabrizio and fundraiser Caroline Wren, who both worked for Donald Trump. Jenner was a long-time supporter of the former president. However, the relationship is said to have cooled down in recent years due to different approaches to social policy.

Jenner, who lived as a man until 2015, rose to prominence as a reality actor after a career as a decathlete with gold medal in the 1976 Olympics. In the series “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, she raised stepdaughters Kim, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian under her maiden name Bruce, the children of her wife Kris from a previous relationship. The couple also had two more children, models and entrepreneurs Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

After confessing to live as a woman six years ago, Jenner stood in front of the camera for her own reality show “I Am Cait”. Since divorcing Kris Jenner, she has lived in Malibu with transgender model Sophia Hutchins. “I’ve been at home in California for almost 50 years. I came here because I knew that everyone could turn their dreams into reality here. But in the last ten years we have seen a party tarnish the shine of the Golden State because its politics are more important than progress and because it puts the interests of some groups over those of the people, ”Jenner said in her application for governorship Failures by Newsom and the Democratic Party.

Jenner isn’t the first to make the leap from Hollywood to Sacramento. When Governor Gray Davis was deposed in 2003 at a so-called recall, the native Austrian Arnold Schwarzenegger, previously known as a bodybuilder and from action films such as “Terminator” and “Eraser”, succeeded him.
