All eight participants in the Call of Duty League Championship have been determined. In addition to the trophy, there is a prize pool of $ 2.5 million.
The Florida Mutineers have secured eighth and thus last place in the list of participants in the Call of Duty League Championship (CDL Championship). The team bought the ticket to Los Angeles on Sunday with a 3-1 win against the Los Angeles guerrillas. The World Cup will take place August 19-22 and will pay $ 2.5 million in prize money.
In the ranking of the twelve teams, Atlanza FaZe currently leads with a total of 485 points. This gives them a huge lead over the runner-up Toronto Ultra team, who are 155 points behind. FaZe therefore only starts with the highest seeding in round two of the playoffs.
The second starting place in the championship is currently still fiercely contested and also means a bye to the start of the playoffs. Four teams are still in the running for this: Toronto Ultra, Dallas Empire, New York Subliners and OpTic Chicago.
The teams that finish the regular season in third to sixth place start the tournament in round one of the Winner Bracket. For the seventh and eighth places it starts in the Lower Bracket, in which any defeat would mean the end. Minnesota, Los Angeles and Florida are currently fighting for sixth place and thus for a place in the Winner Bracket.
These teams will play in the CDL Championship:
- Atlanta FaZe
- Toronto Ultra
- Dallas Empire
- New York Subliners
- OpTic Chicago
- Minnesota Røkkr
- Florida Mutineers
- Los Angeles Guerillas
The winner of the CDL Championship collects US $ 1,250,000 in prize money. The time-placed winner will receive $ 600,000 and the third will receive $ 300,000.
