Car and motorcycle incentives, green light for the bonus: discount up to 5 thousand euros. Here’s how it works.
Il automotive decree Giorgetti, which foresees incentives for the purchase of non-polluting cars and motorcycles (ecobonus), was registered today by the Court of Auditors. To enter into force you have to wait for the publication on the Official Gazette (which could already happen today) and the operation of the specific platform. Fulfillments – explains the Mise – which will be carried out as soon as possible.
Bonus from 2 thousand up to a maximum of 5 thousand euros
Il car and motorcycle bonus depending on the type of purchase, from the traditional low-emission engine to the electric one, it guarantees a discount on the price that fluctuates from 2 thousand up to a maximum of 5 thousand euros. Incentives that will last three years, from 2022 until all of 2024and that they will put into circulation 650 million for each year stimulating demand.
€ 650 million allocated for each of the years 2022-2023-2024
The provision signed by the Prime Minister Mario Draghi destined 650 million euros for each of the years 2022-2023-2024, which fall within the resources allocated by the Government to the Automotive Fund for which a total financial endowment of 8.7 billion euros has been provided until 2030.
“With the green light to the incentives, we are giving a concrete and long-awaited response to the automotive sector which is going through profound suffering”declares Minister Giorgetti who adds: “The multi-year measure will allow companies to carry out industrial planning on the way to development. The incentives, I am convinced, are not decisive for the crisis in the sector which must be profoundly renewed but represent an emergency tool to go through a difficult period. The first pandemic, the shortage of raw materials and now the war are also putting a strain on this sector which represents one of our flagships of Italy. It is necessary – underlines the minister – even more than before to open a reflection on the necessary ecological transition that must be sustainable, possible and not leave behind dead and wounded “.
In particular, the measure establishes that:
- * for the purchase of new M1 category vehicles in emissions range 0-20 g / km (electric)with a price of up to 35 thousand euros + VAT, it is possible to request a contribution of 3 thousand euros, to which a further 2 thousand euros can be added if an approved car in a class of less than 5 euros is scrapped at the same time.
This category of ecobonus it is funded with 220 million in 2022, 230 million in 2023 and 245 million in 2024.
- * for the purchase of new M1 category vehicles in emission range 21-60 g / km (plug – in hybrid)with a price of up to 45 thousand euros + VAT, it is possible to request a contribution of 2 thousand euros to which a further 2 thousand euros can be added if a car approved in a class lower than 5 euros is scrapped at the same time.
This eco-bonus category is financed with 225 million in 2022, 235 million in 2023 and 245 million in 2024.
- * for the purchase of new M1 category vehicles in emissions range 61-135 g / km (endothermic with low emissions)with a price of up to 35 thousand euros + VAT, it is possible to request a contribution of 2 thousand euros if an approved car in a class lower than 5 euros is scrapped at the same time.
This category of eco-bonus is financed with 170 million in 2022, 150 million in 2023 and 120 million in 2024.
Incentives for the purchase of electric, hybrid, plug-in and endothermic vehicles are granted only to natural persons. A small percentage of the funds is reserved for the companies of car sharing for the purchase of electric, hybrid and plug-in vehicles.
In favor of small and medium-sized enterprisesincluding legal persons, merchants transport business of things on their own account or on behalf of third parties, contributions are also provided for the purchase of commercial vehicles of category N1 and N2, brand new, exclusively powered by electricity. The incentive is granted with the simultaneous scrapping of an approved vehicle in a class lower than Euro 4.
A contribution of 4,000 euros is therefore recognized for N1 vehicles up to 1.5 tons, of 6,000 euros for N1 vehicles over 1.5 tons and up to 3.5 tons, of 12,000 euros for N2 vehicles of 3 , 5 tons up to 7 tons. A contribution of 14,000 euros is recognized for N2 vehicles over 7 tons and up to 12 tons.
This eco-bonus category is financed with 10 million in 2022, 15 million in 2023 and 20 million in 2024.
Incentives have also been provided for the purchase of electric and hybrid mopeds and motorcycles (categories L1e, L2e, L3e, L4e, L5e, L6e, L7e): a contribution of 30% of the purchase price up to a maximum of 3,000 euros and 40% up to 4,000,000 euros if a motorcycle in a class of Euro 0 to 3.
This eco-bonus is financed with 15 million euros for the years 2022, 2023 and 2024.
