Cascavel carries out new task force to eliminate the dengue mosquito – Jornal O Paraná

Cascavel – Endemic agents and residents’ associations will carry out another joint action on Saturday (14), starting at 8 am, to combat outbreaks of Aedes aegypti proliferation, in the neighborhoods of Pacaembu, Canada, Parque Verde and São Cristóvão. The city that is in a dengue epidemic and already has 2,852 confirmed cases of the disease and three recorded deaths.

“How can I help you? Checking the entire yard, eliminating all possible breeding sites, looking at the gutter, the water tank and the cistern. Check in all places if there is any risk of mosquito proliferation and adjust the situation”, commented the coordinator of the Endemics sector, Ana Paula Barboza.

In addition to the joint action, there will also be the “Mutirão do Bem”, in the Colmeia neighborhood, where the team from the “Liga do Bem”, from the Health Surveillance Education sector, will work together with the community, endemic agents and members of the Jesus Athletes. During the week, agents of endemic diseases continue with the work of inspections, lightning action in the locations of suspected cases and blocking in locations with confirmed cases.

In Bairro Pacaembu, the meeting point will be at Rua Terra Roxa, on the corner with Avenida Corbélia, in “Pracinha”, Bairro Canada, on Rua Marechal Cândido Rondon, on the corner with Rua Itaqui and Bairro Colmeia, at Rua Monsenhor Guilherme, 225. Parque Verde and São Cristóvão II Community Hall, the meeting point will be in the community halls.

Toledo

In Toledo, the first death from dengue was confirmed this week. This is a 79-year-old female patient whose first symptoms appeared on April 18, being treated in the supplementary health network on the 20th, evolving to a worsening of the clinical picture and hospitalization in an ICU bed on the 26th and coming to died on May 1st.

The elderly woman is among the 1,272 cases of the disease already registered in the municipality in this epidemiological period – which began in early August last year – a growth of 55.69% compared to last week. In addition, 647 people were waiting for the test result. Adding the 432 exams in which the presence of the disease was ruled out, 2,351 people with symptoms of the disease sought health services.
