Cause unclear – 40-year-old died in a head-on collision with a truck

Terrible accident on Saturday night in the Innviertel (Upper Austria). A truck and a VW van had collided head-on. Any help came too late for the 40-year-old VW driver, who died at the scene of the accident.

The fatal traffic accident occurred on Saturday at 1.30 a.m. in the municipality of St. Peter am Hart. A 40-year-old from the Braunau district drove his car on Altheimer Straße in the direction of Braunau. At the same time, a 37-year-old Croatian living in Germany was steering his truck in the opposite direction. The force of the collision threw the car into the adjacent meadow. The 40-year-old suffered such serious injuries that he died at the scene of the accident. The 37-year-old suffered injuries of an unspecified degree and was taken to the Braunau hospital.
