Celtics to pay tribute to Bill Russell

“We are planning a celebration (in honor of Bill Russell) and we are in contact with his widow and family,” said the manager.

“It is not clear if the family wants a ceremony in style. I get the feeling that they still don’t know what kind of tribute would be the right one,” she added.

Despite this, Grousbeck explained that the team will celebrate the tribute during the opening night of the season, where the franchise prepares various activities and the presence of old legends.

“We will definitely pay tribute to him. We plan to adorn our field and uniforms with some kind of tribute. We will try to do what is in our power, but we want his family to also be happy with the result”, concluded the manager.
