The Central Military Hospital was awarded a gold medal at the 7th edition of the Inventions Fair ‘INVENT – INVEST’ 2016 for a short cervical femoral stent.
According to a press release, the invention was awarded last year at the International Invention Show ‘Innova’, Brussels, with the gold medal, the Special Prize of the Section ‘Medicine and Health‘ and three diplomas, awarded by the delegations of France, Russia and Poland.
The invention is a hip prosthesis, with an innovative system of fixation, mixed, by screwing and cementing in the femoral neck, a medical device whose main advantages are both the possibility of implantation by minimally invasive surgical techniques and ensuring maximum preservation of bone mass. .
The invention is the result of an effort of scientific research and practical applications of the multidisciplinary team composed of representatives of the Central Military Emergency University Hospital ‘Dr. Carol Davila ‘(SUUMC) and of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest – lieutenant-colonel assistant doctor. univ. dr.
