Chanel under fire after fashion show with royal on horseback

A horse on the catwalk? French fashion house Chanel didn’t think it was a bad idea. The opener of their couture show was none other than Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco, on her horse. After her passage, the other models followed on foot.

The performance of Casiraghi, who is the ambassador of the fashion house, but also an avid horse rider, was criticized a lot. Animal rights organization Peta, among others, is not pleased with the use of her horse on the catwalk. ‘Horses are intelligent, complex and easily frightened individuals. They are not fashion accessories that are used to walking on a catwalk with loud music,” said the director of Peta UK.
