Resume

This publication aims to give an overview of the chemical-biological scientific knowledge of the Croton lechleri ​​Muell. Arg., “Blood of degree”, thus hoping to provide a contribution for its better knowledge and use. From Croton lechleri, chemical constituents such as alkaloids, phenolics, diterpenes and steroids have been reported. Likewise, scientific reports indicate that various biological tests have been carried out to evaluate its antimicrobial, antioxidant, antimutagenic, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and healing activity. The reported results are discussed.
