Chiefs' revenge journey begins with Houston, Tennessee gets the next

-

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – In a locker room after the Heads of Kansas City blocked Houston's return to the AFC's title game, Frank Clark finally came back to a terrible loss to Texans midway through the regular season.

'; The last time they were here they brought us to our attention, just after we struck our faces. That's the only thing I remember, '; Clark said of the discussion at Week 6 at Arrowhead Stadium. At the end of the day, you are talking to the wrong man, talking to the wrong team. They talk to all of these things and come in the future and we introduce them. We sent them home soon. # 39;

It was the first stop on the Chief Executive's revenge season.

After their arrival to reach the Super Bowl last season, the path will take them to their first championship in 50 years time through the Tennessee Titans – which they won in Week 10 – and the Green Bay Packers, who hit them in late October and will play the San Francisco 49ers on NFC spot in Miami.

But that is ahead of things, and after he aspires to a 24-0 deficit to move the United States 51-31 Sunday, the Commanders know well that nothing can happen. So their focus is heavily on the Titans and the hostels running west Derrick Henry, which passed through the restoration defense they had during 35-32 victory on November 10 – the latest loss at Kansas City.

'; They met us in Tennessee, right? '; Clark asked for a grin. One period is owed to them. # 39;

Not only this year, either. The Titans succeeded the CEOs from turning the plays in the wild-card round at Arrowhead Stadium a few years ago, and Andy Reid has 1-8 against the franchise since he moved from Houston. As an eagle coach and CEO, four of the five coaches were at the Titans after their resettlement was lost by Reid.

Now that the same franchise is finally standing at the end of the Commanders, they lend the Lamar Hunt Trophy – named for the founder of the late Chief Executives – as winners of the AFC for the first time since the 1969 season.

'; We love it. It's called Lamar Hunt. We'd love to have that, ”said Reid. At the same time, we have to go through the process and focus, and we play a team like football. We need to go back and make a strong game plan and then come out and play well. That's what really is. Then good things happen. ';

WHAT'S THE WORK

Patrick Mahomes – a big surprise there. The healthy quarterback Chiefs is finally having dealt with a sprained ankle and kneecap dislocated this season, and it showed a performance against Houston. It was the first player in history he threw for at least 300 yards, he ran for at least 50 and throw five landing in one playoff game.

WHAT NEED HELP

The game was not required by the CEOs against the Texans, but certainly they will be against Tennessee. Damien Williams held two bad effects but only got 47 yards on 12 behavior, and he backed up with LeSean McCoy and chose Darwin Thompson even the sixth round.

STOC UP

The Chiefs raised plenty of hassle when they traded for Clark, then they signed it to a huge contract of $ 101 million before he ever departed down. But the first Seattle defensive earned all hundred per Texans, deshaun Watson releasing three times and laying it four times in sovereign performance.

DOWN STOCK

Pullin Hill, but not returning to the hole. Chiefs used Mecole Hardman in that role every season but they put the dynamic Hill back for an early pound against Houston. He left it, the Texans left and scored a worrying house soon. Hill was back again later in the game, although Hardman voted on the Bowl Pro as a returns specialist.

DERIVATIONS

Chris Jones tackled the defensive defense last week and tried to play Sunday, but he ended up inactive when he was unable to do it by pregame precedents. The Chief Executives hope that he is back – and close to 100 percent – to help Henry, who convinced 188 yards and on two sides when they met earlier this season.

MAIN NO

4 minutes, 50 seconds: That was the time the Chiefs had the ball in the second quarter of Sunday, when they had only 16 plays but still reached four boys. Not only did he put the 24-0 Texans lead but he gave Kansas City a half hour advantage that only grew during the third quarter.

UP Next Next

The Chiefs will be playing in the AFC title game for the second consecutive season, the first time that took place in the history of the franchise. They did not win a championship since they won the Oakland Raiders on 4 January 1970, nine months all before Mahomes' father was born – even the great pitcher Pat Mahomes.
