The last matches don’t offer a lot of intrigue today. Three of the four games feature double-digit point spreads, and the only game that should be close includes a poor Philadelphia Eagles team against a Las Vegas Raiders team that just lost their head coach. Perhaps the most interesting story here is Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff’s double game of revenge. The game itself shouldn’t be close. It pits one of the best NFL teams in the Los Angeles Rams against one of the worst NFL teams in the Detroit Lions. This one will probably be a rash. What makes it slightly interesting is that we get something that you almost never see: two quarterbacks simultaneously facing their old teams from last season. The Rams and Lions traded quarterbacks during the offseason. The Rams have clearly had the best quarterback in the business, but the return of the two guys to fight against their old teams creates at least some minimal interest in this game.

Elsewhere in the last few games, the Philadelphia Eagles 2-4 visit the Las Vegas Raiders 4-2, the Chicago Bears 3-3 try to avoid being knocked down by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-1 and the Houston Texans 1-5 offer themselves as a sacrifice to the undefeated 6-0 Arizona Cardinals. Upsets are always possible in the NFL, but this particular game list doesn’t look convincing on paper.

Enjoy the games everyone. Use this thread to comment on the late afternoon games you like.
