The accountant Adel Ayyad, chairman of the Petroleum Cooperation Company, one of the companies in the petroleum sector, said that the total quantities sold of petroleum products during the fiscal year 2017-2018 amounted to about 9.6 million tons, where the share of the total market for the main products was 32%.
The Chairman of the Cooperation Company for Petroleum to increase the number of stations of the company to reach 1144 stations spread throughout the Republic, which contributed to the increase in the total revenues of the company from the marketing of petroleum products and services to reach about 42 billion pounds.
Ayad said that the plan of sales of various quantities of gasoline, diesel, oil and oils in the local market, as well as the export of quantities of oil to the countries of Burundi, Sudan and Jordan in the amount of 106 tons has been implemented as a start to expand in the external market.
The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tariq Al Mulla, approved the results of the 2017/2018 financial year for the Co-operation Company. He stressed that the Ministry of Petroleum's strategy attaches great importance to securing fuel supplies to the local market through developing and improving the efficiency of petroleum products marketing activity in the Egyptian market. One of the most important petroleum activities affecting the daily needs of citizens, pointing out that the current work plan comes within the program of development and modernization of the oil sector, which has become tangible results on the ground.
The minister stressed the need to increase the number of stations using solar energy in the framework of energy conservation plans, and directed companies to work on the development and increase sales of chemicals, especially as distinct from products similar to the market.
