A few weeks after the presidential election, it is now time for the legislative elections. These will take place in a little less than a month, on Sundays June 12 and 19, 2022. But to allow the vote to take place in good conditions, the municipality of Colomiers to the west of Toulouse is launching a call for volunteers. She is looking for assessors to man the polling stations on these two days.

Facilitate office organization

In detail, the city has 25 polling stations spread over nine sites. Each office is composed of a president, two assessors and a secretary. In total, the town hall needs around fifty assessors. During each election, the city ensures “to count on many Columérins and Columérines”.

“But 2022 is an election year which has four voting Sundays and the legislative elections are held on two consecutive Sundays”, underlines the town hall. “In this context, the candidacy of new assessors facilitates the organization of offices. It also allows the rotation of assessors”, explains the mayor of Colomiers, Karine Traval-Michelet.

Decisive missions

Concretely, three missions are to be fulfilled during these days. It will be a question of “checking the identity document of the voter, having the attendance list signed and following the counting of the ballots”, details the municipality. They may also be required to replace or assist the Chairman. The town hall also recalls that as a member of a polling station, “the assessors participate in a citizen act”. “They make it possible to ensure the smooth running of the elections”.

Those interested will have to carry out these missions from 7.45 a.m. until at least 10 p.m. They are invited to send their contact details to [email protected] Be careful however, a condition must be met to be selected: to be registered on the electoral lists in Haute-Garonne.
