“With this urgent appeal to our customers, we are going one step further than current measures,” said Marc Hofman, COO Retail. “For us, this decision is consistent with the rules that already apply in our stores and to which all of us, customers and employees, must again comply more strictly. So, together with our customers, we want to make sure that we are helping to combat the spread of the virus. In addition, we also want to reduce the pressure on our employees in this way. ”
Colruyt applies the measures that have become normal, such as wearing a mask, social distancing or even the disinfection of carts. “We also ask our customers to take a caddy so that they can naturally keep the distance of 1.5 meters. In smaller stores we allow the use of trolleys. The number of trolleys and trolleys is also limited in order to respect the principle of one customer per 10 m2 ”, recalls Colruyt.
“We will increase awareness among our customers about this through various communication channels, such as in-store posters and social media,” concludes Marc Hofman. “All of our actions ultimately have one goal: to put the health of our customers and employees first.”
