Comparison of Hyundai Creta Vs Honda HR-V, Which is More Powerful?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has officially launched its newest Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), the Creta. When viewed from the specifications, this car is directly opposite the Honda HR-V.

In particular, for the HR-V which is equipped with a 1.5 L engine. Because, the Creta is also only equipped with an engine with a capacity of 1,500 cc.

Honda HR-V 1.5L E Special Edition

When viewed from the specifications issued by each manufacturer, the Honda HR-V appears to have slightly higher power and torque than the engine used by the Hyundai Creta.

HR-V 1.5 is equipped with an engine capacity of 1,497 cc, SOHC, inline 4-cylinder, 16 valves, i-VTEC. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 118.3 hp at 6,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm. Honda offers two choices of transmission systems for the HR-V, namely manual and CVT. Each uses 6 speed.

While on the Creta, relying on an engine with a capacity of 1,497 cc, 16 valves, which is capable of producing a maximum power of up to 113.4 hp at 6,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 144.1 Nm at 4,500 rpm. Hyundai also offers two choices of transmission systems, namely 6-speed manual and automatic.

However, the automatic transmission system at Hyundai is called Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). This system is the same as CVT, still using a pair of pulleys, but not using a steel belt but a chain belt.

In terms of price, the Hyundai Creta which comes with six variants is priced from IDR 279 million to IDR 399 million. Meanwhile, the Honda HR-V has four variants and is marketed from IDR 340.9 million to IDR 398.9 million.
