They confirm the conviction of seven soldiers for raping an Emberá girl, as it became known in the last hours.
The above, after the uniformed men sexually accessed her when she was 12 years old.
Soldiers convicted of raping Embera girl
The Superior Court of Pereira confirmed in second instance the sentence to 16 years against six soldiers. The foregoing, for the rape of a 12-year-old girl from the Emberá indigenous community. These events occurred on June 21, 2020.
The identities of the convicted military officers are:

- Jose Luis Holguín
- Oscar Eduardo Gil
- Deyson Andrés Isaza
The court found the aforementioned guilty of the crime of abusive carnal access with a minor under 14 years of age aggravated. Luis Fernando Mangareth was also sentenced to eight years as an accomplice.
In this second instance ruling it was indicated that there was no violation of due process. In addition, since there is an indictment, duly endorsed by the judiciary, there is no controversy in the crime charged, as alleged by the defense of the convicted persons.
The authorities reported the carrying out of more than 160 investigative actions; In these, they evidenced the participation of these soldiers in the sexual assault on the girl under 12 years of age.
