Corona: Austria has the highest incidence in Europe

The current corona wave is picking up speed worldwide. On Tuesday, 13,416 new infections were recorded in Austria within 24 hours. This is above the average of the past seven days, with 12,285 new cases added every day. The seven-day incidence thus rose to 952.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

1st place in Europe

With this value, Austria is clearly in first place in Europe in terms of incidence. According to statistics from Johns Hopkins University and the ECDC, they are followed by Slovenia (751.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants), Liechtenstein (694.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) and Greece (525.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).
